Brian Day helps families protect and grow wealth while planning for unforeseen liabilities. By comprehensively understanding clients and using a consultative approach based on experience with McKinsey & Co. and his own firm, he delivers custom solutions. All appropriate wealth management issues are addressed, including investment management, insurance (life, disability, long term care and variable annuities), debt management, retirement planning, business valuation and succession planning, stock options and education funding. Working closely with accountants and estate attorneys, clients may improve estate planning, charitable gifting and tax management.
Brian has a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and a Masters in Business Administration from Duke. His wife, Teresa McGlone, PhD is a Psychologist in private practice and their daughter Erin attends the Montessori School of Raleigh.

Joseph J. Mertes earned a BS degree from Belmont Abbey College and a Master of Business Administration Degree from Wake Forest University. He began his career developing a venture capital firm that specialized restructuring businesses through the use of private equity. Capital formation, strategic business planning and control functions were key areas of responsibility.
In 1987 he concentrated on investing, trading techniques and money management. He currently manages a hedge fund and consults with notable funds. He has emphasized and assisted traders, investors and institutions on the importance of establishing a business approach to the trading arena. Utilizing a methodology (Auction Market Theory) that is structured on information directly from the markets, he has experienced considerable success assisting others to understand the importance of executing a strategic, well managed approach to trading and investing.
He is currently the author of The Markets in Development Newsletter and has written for magazines including The Journal of Trading & Investing. Joe lives in Davidson, NC and is not affiliated with LPL Financial.

Michael Hentschel received his BA from Yale, majoring in both Archaeology and Economics, an MBA from Kellogg/Northwestern in International Finance, and taught Venture Management at Fuqua/Duke's Executive MBA Program. He started in banking and high technology financial management and became Partner of Schroder Ventures in Silicon Valley, investing in biotech, communications, and software in the 80's. Since 1987, he has been Managing Director of TechVest International, a venture acceleration Group of experienced experts contributing managerial experience and fund raising skills. Over his career, Michael has invested and raised over $100 million in more than 50 ventures. He currently acts as Strategic CFO/Director for early-stage companies, including ColdStorData, JenLaur Nanobio, SpectraSafe, Skoodlez Gamecloud, YTR Trading, WingPower Energy, and advises other emergent ventures.
Michael writes the bi-weekly TechVest Econometrics Newsletter and has published a number of in-depth market research books dealing with the important emerging industries. Michael lives in Greensboro, NC and Andover, MA and is not affiliated with LPL Financial.
